Publish your game to Roblox

Publish your studs.gg game to Roblox from a phone or a computer. Connect Roblox once, pick a game and press Publish, with no Studio and no API key to copy.

Publishing sends your finished game to a game on your Roblox account. It works the same on a phone and on a computer, and you never need Roblox Studio.

The first time, connect Roblox

  1. Open the publish menu under your finished game and click Connect Roblox. You can also find it in the avatar menu.

  2. Studs Connect opens and starts a computer in the cloud just for you. Sign in to Roblox there, once. It is Roblox's real sign-in page, so your password goes to Roblox.

  3. Roblox Studio on that computer makes 5 empty games on your account, named Studs game 1 to Studs game 5. Your other games stay as they are.

  4. Studs Connect makes a publishing key that can only publish to those 5 games, and keeps it. Studs itself never sees the key.

  5. Studs Connect signs you out, deletes the computer and sends you back to Studs. You will see Roblox is connected.

You only do this once. Connect Roblox so Studs can publish has the details, and how to use your own key instead.

Publishing

  1. When the run is done, open the publish menu under the result.

  2. Pick the game to publish into, for example Studs game 1.

  3. Click Publish. When it finishes you will see Published! and an Open in Roblox link.

After you change your game, click Republish. It replaces the live version of that game with the new one. If you pick a different game than last time, Studs checks with you first.

Roblox has its own requirements for publishing public experiences. If Roblox blocks the publish, the fix is on your Roblox account, not in Studs.

Downloading instead

To publish somewhere Studs cannot reach, such as a group experience, download the place file from the same menu. You can open it in Roblox Studio and publish from there to any experience you have access to. Downloading works for every finished run, with or without Roblox connected.

If publishing fails

  • The publish menu asks you to connect Roblox again. Click Connect Roblox and sign in once more. This happens if you connected before Studs Connect existed, or removed the key on Roblox.

  • The build did not finish. Parts of the game are missing. Build them first, see Parts of my game are missing.

  • Roblox refuses the publish. Check that your Roblox account meets Roblox's publishing requirements above, then try again.
